LG Poll: Deputy Gov. Peter Odey Confident in APC’s Success as Cross River Holds Local Government Elections

Cross River State held its Local Government Council Elections today, with voters casting ballots across all 18 local government areas. Deputy Governor Rt. Hon. Peter Odey joined residents at his polling unit in Idum-Mbube, Ogoja, to participate in the state-wide exercise.

After voting, Odey expressed optimism about the success of the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates, including Ogoja’s chairmanship candidate, Mr. Chris Agbeh, and other APC representatives. He noted that voting materials had been delivered to most polling units, ensuring a smooth start to the election process.

“Cross Riverians are showing strong support for APC candidates, due to the dedication and efforts our party has made to engage with the people,” Odey stated. He further attributed this support to the credibility of the APC candidates and the trust placed in the leadership of Governor Prince Bassey Otu.

Highlighting the state administration’s initiatives, Odey emphasized the APC-led government’s commitment to youth employment and empowerment programs, which he believes have built public trust and confidence. He encouraged young people to focus on skill-building and meaningful enterprises rather than relying solely on political appointments.

The Deputy Governor also congratulated Mr. Chris Agbeh and his running mate, Mr. Emmanuel Idris Idi Yakubu, commending their readiness to promote development and improve the well-being of Ogoja’s residents. He described the election as an important moment for Cross River State, with strong turnout from voters across the state.

“The APC’s established record of service and its promise of continued progress have inspired widespread support, and I am confident that this will result in victory for our candidates,” Odey affirmed, as anticipation builds for the election results and the beginning of local governance under Governor Prince Bassey Edet Otu’s administration.
